As the reading transitions to A Voice for Christmasby beloved Canadian author, W.O. Mitchell, it continues the underlying message of the importance of family during the holiday season. Set in the 1940’s, a young boy has one Christmas wish – to talk to his father for the first time since he was sent off to war. This timeless Saskatchewan tale of family, love, and perseverance will remind us to never take connection for granted.
Making Spirits Bright will be Globe Theatre’s take on a live radio show, where we will get the opportunity to premier these classic stories for the first time ever on stage. Patrons who choose to experience the live readings in person will find themselves at the cozy Artesian, where these beloved stories will come to life with the creativity of a company of actors, who together will create a full score of sound effects. A story that will entertain children, parents, and grandparents – it is a fun holiday activity for the whole family.
